ERC Interview Coaching/Training

A quality presentation to an evaluation panel for an ERC research grant application needs to communicate your scientific ideas/intentions in a manner that is clear, to-the-point, convincing and easy to understand. The presentation must also address the judging criteria.

During the interview session you also need to be at ease as well as fully prepared in answering all questions directed at you by a broad interview panel. You must speak clearly and convincingly in a manner that both experts and non-experts can understand.

We offer professional ERC Starting Grant and ERC Consolidator Grant interview coaching/training to both locally situated and long distance researchers who have been invited by ERC to interview.

Our interview preparation support is specifically directed at candidates who really want to push themselves beyond their normal comfort zone(s) in order to be fully prepared for their ERC interview: (1) by being able to deliver a powerful presentation; (2) be completely prepared for any type of question (including unexpected and potentially irritating questions), and (3) being able to answer each question in a direct, crisp and informative manner.

The support is quite personal and is individually tailored to each applicant, catering to their own strengths and weaknesses.

Our in-depth and focussed coaching/training includes:

  • Strategic advice and assistance in the development of presentation content, and in-depth preparation for the question and answer component of the interview.
  • Critical review and feedback on the presentation delivery (identification of potential weaknesses/advice on how to remedy them).
  • Practice sessions.
  • Presentation, communication and interview skills coaching.

For any researchers (or project managers) who would like to know more about our ERC Interview services, please contact us directly and we will be happy to provide more in-depth information.
– We are also available to provide interview coaching to small groups of applicants in the form of tailored workshops
