Resubmitting an ERC proposal?

It surprises us just how many applicants who plan to resubmit a previous ERC proposal, whether it be ERC Starting, Consolidator or Advanced, only begin to work on their proposal in the last few weeks before the deadline and only make minor adjustments to the proposal itself.

In some cases, this can be enough, but in most cases the applicants make a serious underestimation of what it takes to significantly improve a proposal in order to make it competitive.

Our advice to all applicants wanting to resubmit an ERC proposal, start at least 6 months in advance and make a solid plan as to how you will deal with the reviewer’s comments from your previous submission, anticipate any new commentary from reviewers in this round and take the time to significantly improve all aspects of your proposal.
