ASK YOUR PEERS TO COMMENT ON YOUR DRAFT RESEARCH GRANT PROPOSAL.

When writing your research grant application, do you take the time to ask some of your peers or a few respected leaders in your field to critically review your proposal? If not, it may really be worth considering. Critical feedback and input, when your proposal is in its ‘first full draft stage’ can really help sharpen the focus of the proposal, and weed out weaknesses that are difficult to spot on your own. Make sure you do this at least 2 weeks out from the submission deadline to (1) give colleagues time to respond, and (2) give yourself time to adjust the proposal in the light of the feedback.
